McDonald’s To Launch Mobile Ordering/Payments In The US

When Apple Pay was first launched, fast food chain McDonald’s was one of the first few companies to adopt the system. However if there is one aspect of McDonald’s that is still missing, it would be mobile ordering and delivery. The good news is that if you do frequent the fast food chain, know that those features will be coming this year.

In a report from Fortune (via 9to5Mac), it seems that McDonald’s will be launching mobile ordering and payment options through its mobile app, similar to what other companies such as Starbucks has done, as well as launching a delivery service later this year. Bloomberg claims that McDonald’s has so far been working with a variety of delivery services to test their approach.

It should be noted that as far as McDonald’s delivery is concerned, this is not necessarily a new feature or service. There are some countries in the world in which McDonald’s already does delivery services through their own transportation, but Bloomberg is saying that for the US, McDonald’s has been testing out other services such as Postmates Inc., UberEats, Foodpanda, and so on.

That being said there is no clear date on when the delivery service will roll out, but for those interested in the mobile ordering and payments, McDonald’s expects that it should be rolled out across all 14,000 of their locations across the US by autumn.
