Sprint Releases Nougat For The Galaxy S6 Edge+

Customers who picked up the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on Sprint will be delighted to find out today that the carrier has now started rolling out the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for this handset. Samsung did say that handsets from the Galaxy S6 series will receive Nougat in the first half of this year and it has kept its word. Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners can now get on the latest and greatest version of Android.

As is the case with most major firmware updates, it’s being rolled out in stages, so it may not have gone live for all users just yet. They will receive an over-the-air update notification on their handset informing them that Nougat is now available for download.

Those Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners on Sprint who are a bit impatient can also try manually pulling the update via the settings menu of their device if they’ve yet to receive the over-the-air update notification. Since it’s a major update, it’s hefty, coming in at around 1.3GB.

Sprint has even rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 5. It’s also receiving the update in stages so some users may still have to wait for a bit before they can get a taste of Nougat.
