Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) Nougat Update Released

Samsung hasn’t even updated all of its recent smartphones to Nougat yet so it’s not like all of its compatible devices are running the latest version of Android. However, the company has made owners of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) very happy today. It has released the Android 7.0 Nougat update for this tablet.

Samsung launched this tablet in May last year. Owners will certainly have been waiting for a taste of Nougat but it’s not like Samsung gave a release date for the update at any point in time. It didn’t even confirm when its existing tablets would be updated to Nougat.

Build number P580KXU1BQD9 is now being rolled out for the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016). It’s a hefty file given that it’s a major update. It brings all of the features that you’ve come to expect from Nougat, included but limited to the tweaked user interface, improved notifications experience, a new multitasking view, and more.

The same update is also going to be released for the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) with build number P585N0KOU1BQD9. No word as yet on when some of Samsung’s other compatible tablets will receive the Nougat update.

Before the update is downloaded and installed, users will need to make sure that they have at least 50 percent of battery life remaining in the battery.
