galaxy tab a 101A couple of months ago, a Polish retailer listed a Samsung tablet called the Galaxy Tab A. Given that the tablet had yet to be announced, some had speculated that this was a mistake by the retailer. Either that or they had accidentally revealed a tablet that Samsung wasn’t ready to reveal just yet.

Turns out it’s a bit of both because just recently, Samsung Germany officially took the wraps off the Galaxy Tab A 10.1. As the name suggests, this is an Android tablet with a 10.1-inch display. It will feature a 1920×1200 resolution that features Samsung’s own PLS display technology, a variation of IPS displays that we’ve seen used in other devices in the past.

Under the hood, Samsung has chosen an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. While the model of the chipset was not revealed, it has been suggested that we are probably looking at a Samsung Exynos 7870 chipset. It also packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.

In terms of cameras, we are looking at an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. No word on whether it will be arriving stateside, but the WiFi only model is priced at around €289, while the cellular version is priced at €349.
