OnePlus 5 Price, Specs, And Release Date Confirmed

The much-awaited new flagship smartphone from OnePlus has been officially announced today. The OnePlus 5 is everything that we heard about in the rumors, and more. The company has officially confirmed the OnePlus 5 price, specs, and release date today. This has been one of the most highly anticipated devices of 2017 so it will be interesting to see how it performs in the market.

The OnePlus 5 features a 5.5 inch full HD 16:9 aspect ratio display with Gorilla Glass 5. Measuring in at 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.25 mm, the 153g handset is made out of anodized aluminum. The design itself is a bit different compared to the predecessor in that the new handset has rounded edges and an overall more premium look and feel to it.

Under the hood, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor ticking away alongside 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. OnePlus is also going to offer an 8GB RAM and 128GB configuration. The faster UFS 2.1 memory standard has been confirmed by the company as the one selected for this handset.

The OnePlus 5 also features a USB Type-C port, dual nano-SIM slot, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge. A fingerprint sensor, bottom-facing speaker and 3-microphone with noise cancellation are also onboard. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.

This is the first OnePlus smartphone with a dual camera system. It has a 16 megapixel f/1.7 aperture wide-angle lens combined with a 20 megapixel f/2.6 aperture telephoto lens at the back aside from a 16 megapixel f/2.9 aperture shooter at the front. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames-per-second. There’s also a dual LED flash at the back.

The company says that the OnePlus 5 is its thinnest flagship smartphone yet and despite that, it has been able to improve the battery live 20 percent over the OnePlus 3T.

OnePlus 5 is going to be sold in Midnight Black and Slate Gray colors starting June 27th. The 6GB RAM + 64GB configuration costs $479 and the 8GB RAM + 128GB configuration has a price tag of $539.
