Razer Mobile Device Confirmed By CEO

There have been rumors recently that Razer has a gaming-focused mobile device in the pipeline. We haven’t heard much from the company about such a device but at least there’s confirmation now that one is being developed. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed to CNBC that the company is developing a new mobile device which is going to be ready by the end of this year.

The rumors about a Razer mobile device first started when the company acquired smartphone maker Nextbit earlier this year. Though it shut down support for Nextbit’s Robin smartphone, there were reports that the company was now focusing on a new mobile device.

“One of the most hotly rumored things about Razer is that we’re coming up with a mobile device. And I can say that we are coming up with a mobile device specifically geared toward gamers and entertainment,” Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed to CNBC.

He added that the company is “hoping” to have it out by the end of this year. It’s actively working on making this happen so until there’s any news of delay, we can expect Razer’s gaming-focused mobile device in a couple of months.

“We realized that a lot of our gamers are also passionate about the mobile gaming market, so we’ve done a couple of moves,” the CEO added.

Not a lot of details have been revealed about this product so far. Unless we hear more through the grapevine, it’s probably going to be a surprise for everyone when the Razer mobile device is unveiled in the near future.
