Samsung Says Its Bixby Speaker Will Be Better Than Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo is a leader in the smart speaker market. It’s the product that compelled many companies to make their own smart speakers that are backed by artificial intelligence-powered assistants. Samsung recently confirmed that it’s making one of its own which will be powered by its Bixby voice assistant. The company has now claimed that its Bixby speaker will be better than the Amazon Echo.

Speaking to The Korea Herald earlier today, Harman International CEO Dinesh Paliwal said that Samsung’s smart speaker is going to be a better artificial intelligence platform compared to the Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

For those who are unaware, Harman International is now owned by Samsung. It was the company’s largest acquisition to date. Harman and all of its audio brands are now owned by Samsung.

Paliwal added that Samsung and Harman are working together to launch “a whole new ecosystem.” The idea behind this ecosystem is to provide users with a platform that can control a wide variety of devices using a single application.

Recent reports suggest that the Bixby speaker is going to be an integral part of this ecosystem as it will be at the center of Samsung’s Connected Vision. It will enable users to control their home appliances and other smart objects using voice commands.

Samsung is expected to launch its Bixby smart speaker before the end of this year.
