Uber Credit Card Launched

You probably weren’t expecting Uber to enter into the credit card business, but now it has. The Uber credit card has been launched today in partnership with Visa and Barclays. It’s a credit card without any annual fees that Uber has designed with its riders in mind. It incorporated feedback from customers about how and where they spend and what matters the most to them in a credit card. Uber says that the result is a card that’s “full of extraordinary benefits” for its customers.

The Uber Visa Card is going to provide customers with rewards for all of their purchases. They stack up faster when the Uber card is used for dinner, booking trips, shopping online, and obviously taking an Uber to your destination.

The rewards can then be redeemed for Uber credits that can be used for rides as well as for UberEATS, cash back, and gift cards. Additional benefits include an annual subscription credit of $50 for services like Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon Prime. Uber is also going to provide cardholders with coverage for mobile theft or damage.

The Uber credit card is going to be available nationwide in the United States starting November 2nd, 2017. Customers will see the option to apply for the card within the Uber app.
