Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) Seemingly Confirmed On Samsung’s Website

We have been hearing that Samsung is working on a refreshed model of its mid-ranger, the Samsung Galaxy A5. We suppose it’s not a stretch to think that Samsung could have a new model in the works, although so far the reports have been mostly rumors. However it looks like Samsung themselves might have confirmed the handset.

In a tweet by Roland Quandt, it seems that Samsung Korea’s website has a support page for a certain SM-A530. For those who don’t keep track of the model numbers of phones, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015) had the model number SM-A500, while the 2016 model had the SM-A510 model number, and the 2017 model had the model number SM-A520, so based on this pattern, it’s safe to say that the SM-A530 is probably in reference to the 2018 model.

Unfortunately apart from the model number, the support page doesn’t tell us more than that. This means that in terms of specs and features, it’s still anyone’s guess. However given that it is a mid-ranger, we’re probably looking at very normal specs with nothing to shout about. However there have been rumors that have suggested that the Galaxy A5 (2018) could have an infinity display similar to that of the Galaxy S8, S8+, and the Note 8.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but it could be something of a game changer for Samsung’s mid-range lineup, and could also encourage other OEMs to step up their mid-range offerings.
