HP Elite x3 With Verizon Compatibility Available Now

It was reported last month that HP was thinking about ending sales of the HP Elite x3, a productivity powerhouse that runs Windows 10 Mobile. The company isn’t giving up on this device as yet even though it has canned the plans for a successor. HP confirmed recently that it’s going to continue selling the device through 2019. It’s now selling the Verizon-compatible model of the HP Elite x3 via the Microsoft Store.

The HP Elite x3 is actually the first handset running Windows 10 Mobile to officially support Verizon. Some might say that it’s too little too late, given that this handset has been out for quite some time now and there aren’t a lot of people who are interested in a Windows 10 Mobile-powered device anymore.

Hardware for Windows 10 Mobile isn’t a priority for Microsoft anymore so no new devices are in the pipeline both from the company and its OEM partners. HP’s plans for an Elite x3 successor were shelved because Microsoft lost interest and decided on a change in strategy.

Nevertheless, those who want a Verizon-compatible model of this device can now pick one up from the Microsoft Store. The Elite x3 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It costs $599.
