Samsung Releases Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta 3

It was reported yesterday that Samsung might be rolling out the third Android 8.0 Oreo beta firmware for the Galaxy S8 soon. Samsung today released the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta 3. The third beta release weighs in at 600MB and brings several improvements. The software also brings the latest November security patch for the handset.

Samsung has only started rolling out the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta 3 in the United Kingdom today. However, it’s only a matter of time before the firmware is released in the United States and South Korea. Those are the two other markets where the beta program has been launched.

The company hasn’t confirmed as yet when phase 2 of the beta program is going to take place. That’s when the beta is expected to expand to markets like China and India.

While the new beta firmware doesn’t bring a lot of features for the handset, it does bring several bug fixes to further improve and optimize the Oreo user experience on Samsung’s flagship smartphone.

Samsung is yet to confirm when it’s going to release Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ to the public. If recent reports are to be believed, that may not happen until early next year at the very least.
