The Samsung Galaxy Note8 X 99 AVANT Will Cost You $1,800

In case the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 wasn’t expensive enough, over in Korea, Samsung has unveiled (via GSMArena) a special version of the handset. Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Note8 X 99 AVANT, this is basically a collaboration between Samsung and artist Han Seung-Woo, in which a specially design Note 8 handset has been made.

In case it wasn’t obvious, the “99” in the name is basically saying that there will only be 99 units of the handset made, which means that this is an extremely limited-run product. The design of the handset itself is the same and will be offered in a midnight black finish, but what makes this release special is a tiger-inspired case that you can use with the phone, and a separate print (69 x 45cm) that you can hang in your home.

The contents of the phone will also feature special wallpapers based on the artwork of the artist, along with specific icons that have been created just for this version of the handset. Other than that, the hardware of the phone remains unchanged, although it appears that it will only be offered in the 256GB variant.

As for pricing, the handset will retail for 1,991,000 won, which when converted is roughly $1,800, which is around double of that of the regular Note 8. Samsung isn’t the first to release special editions of its flagship because just last week, LG unveiled their own special version in the LG Signature Edition, which is basically the LG V30 made from special materials that is also priced around $1,800.
