BlackBerry KeyOne Bronze Edition Launched

BlackBerry unveiled the KeyOne back in February last year. It initially planned on selling the handset in a dozen or so markets but the handset turned out to be a relative hit for the company. It’s now sold in more than 50 markets through 120 carriers across the globe. BlackBerry is further capitalizing on the success of this handset by launching a “Bronze Edition” of the KeyOne.

Gareth Hurn, the global head of device portfolio at BlackBerry, has said that the company underestimated demand for the KeyOne by 50 percent. He also mentioned that the period after its launch was a “roller coaster” as the team had to work hard to improve the management of the supply chain in order to keep up with demand.

BlackBerry launched a Black Edition of the KeyOne back in September last year after launching the original silver version earlier in the year. There aren’t a lot of differences in the one it has launched today. As the name suggests, this KeyOne variant has a bronze finish and features dual-SIM functionality.

The company is going to sell the BlackBerry KeyOne Bronze Edition in markets across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. It hasn’t confirmed as yet how much it’s going to cost. It’s going to be released before the end of March.
