Pizza Hut Has A Pair Of Shoes That Can Order A Pizza On Your Behalf

Shoes are designed to protect our feet from hard and rough surfaces, and they also help in sports and exercise where they can cushion our feet from impact, provide better grip, and so on. However if you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Wouldn’t it be nice if my shoes could also order pizzas for me?”, your wish has been granted.

Pizza Hut has recently brought back its Pie Tops (play on the word high tops) sneakers which will allow wearers to order a pizza at a press of a button. This is facilitated through a Bluetooth connection between your phone and the Pie Tops app, in which the button acts as a controller of sorts. However the Pie Tops II goes one step further (see what we did there?) as it can even pause your TV when your pizza is at the door to prevent you from potentially missing out on whatever you’re watching.

Clearly these are designed to be marketing gimmicks and it won’t herald Pizza Hut’s entrance into the sneaker industry. There will only be 50 pairs made in a collaboration between Pizza Hut and The Shoe Surgeon at the start, and they are expected to be launched on hbx.com on the 19th of March. There are plans for additional releases later in the year, but for collectors who prize first-runs and what not, you might want to keep an eye out for them.
