Google Clock App Now Does Spotify Alarms

Don’t like boring old alarm sounds? Google’s Clock app now offers the ability to wake up to your favorite music on Spotify. The app lets users swap the conventional alarm sounds with their favorite tracks. They will require the latest versions of both the Spotify and Clock apps to take advantage of this feature.

Once you have the latest versions of the Spotify and Clock apps on your device, you can easily set up alarms with the perfect wake up music. This feature is available to both Free and Premium Spotify users.

A new Spotify tab has been added to the Alarm sound menu in the Google Clock apps. It shows the recently played and selected tracks in addition to curated playlists that serve as the perfect soundtrack to mornings.

For alarms, you can browse from the music that you have recently played on the service or select from Spotify’s curated morning playlists. It’s even possible to search for a specific track which will drum you into the new morning. You’ll get the option to continue listening to music after you turn off the alarm.

It’s unclear why Google didn’t provide this feature by integrating it with YouTube Music which is its own music streaming platform. Perhaps Google is going by the sheer popularity of Spotify to make sure that people actually use this feature.
