Capcom Interested In More Remakes Following Resident Evil 2

Back in 2015 Capcom confirmed that a Resident Evil 2 remake is in the works and just a few months ago, it was confirmed that the game would be released in January 2019. Now Capcom is home to many classic games and if you’re hoping that one of these games would be remade for modern consoles and PCs in the future, you’re in luck.

During a Q&A session with regards to the company’s latest financials, Capcom was asked if they had plans to remake other titles in which the company responded by saying that this is something that they will be taking a look at. “Regarding remakes and rereleases of titles in our back catalog, we expect to explore these further with a variety of properties as a part of our strategy to utilize our library of IP.”

Capcom does not confirm which titles they will be remaking, but it is reassuring to know that this is something they’ll be exploring in the future. This is versus the stance that some other developers have where they would rather focus on the future with new titles rather than go back and revisit older titles.

In addition to expressing interest in remaking older Capcom titles, the company also seemed to be rather optimistic that Resident Evil 2 had the potential to sell millions on copies upon its release. Given its classic nature, we wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true.
