Way back in 2016, Capcom confirmed that a live-action Monster Hunter movie is being developed and for those who have been eagerly anticipating the movie, you’ll be pleased to learn that the official trailer for the movie has since been released, giving us a glimpse as to what we might be able to expect.

Given that this is a Monster Hunter movie, it would be remiss of Capcom and Sony to not include some memorable monsters that players might have encountered in the game, such as a Diablos and a Rathalos. The movie stars Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa, with the latter playing a seasoned Hunter who helps Jovovich’s character and her team survive the world they just entered.

The movie is being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who had previously worked with Jovovich (and is also married to her) on the Resident Evil movie franchise, so if you’re getting some serious Resident Evil vibes from this trailer, it shouldn’t really be that surprising given the people behind the movie.

The Monster Hunter movie is currently being pegged for a release in December, but given that the coronavirus pandemic is still very much raging on, we wouldn’t be surprised if Sony chose to delay it. Either way, if you have a couple of minutes to spare, you can check out the trailer above.
