SpaceX’s Moon Mission Will Be Live Streamed In VR

SpaceX recently confirmed more details about its Moon mission that’s planned for 2023. It also revealed the identity of the company’s first paying passenger for the trip around the moon who will be accompanied by eight artists on the trip as well. If you’re not one of those people, don’t worry, you will be able to experience the entire mission in virtual reality.

SpaceX’s Moon mission is currently planned for 2023. It will take place on the company’s Big Falcon Rocket. Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has purchased all of the available seats for the trip around the Moon. They won’t be landing, it would just be an orbit around the Moon.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has confirmed over Twitter that SpaceX is going to live stream its Moon mission in “high def” virtual reality. “It’ll feel like you’re there in real-time minus a few seconds for speed of light,” he added.

Musk is anticipating that SpaceX’s Starlink satellite system will be ready by the time the mission takes off. That would help the company in broadcasting the mission in virtual reality, particularly when the moon happens to be between the Earth and SpaceX’s spaceship.

Musk is known for ambitious deadlines and many feel that the mission could be delayed and that does remain a possibility as a lot has to be done before it can be said with reasonable surety that the trip can be carried out safely.
