Google’s ‘Smart TV Kit’ Comes With The New Chromecast

Google is going to unveil a handful of new products at its October 9th event. Most people are looking forward to the new Pixel smartphones but we’ll be getting more than the smartphones come next week. It appears that Google has put together a “Smart TV Kit” which will include the as yet announced new Chromecast.

An image of this kit has appeared online courtesy of a Walmart employee. The kit includes a Google Home Mini and the new Chromecast possibly at a slight discount compared to purchasing the two products on their own.

The new Chromecast will be announced on October 9th. Some Best Buy stores have stocked it already and someone was even able to buy one even before the device’s official launch. Clearly, Google has shipped some of its new products to retailers already, which isn’t out of the ordinary.

The third-generation Chromecast appears to have a matte finish and more rounded edges compared to its predecessor which had a glossy finish. The Chrome logo has been replaced with the more subtle G logo. The new Chromecast also gets improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

The retail employee who leaked this image of the Smart TV Kit didn’t mention how much it will cost when it becomes available for purchase.
