Samsung Working On Fix For Galaxy Note 9’s Freezing Camera

If you own the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and you’re encountering freezing issues with the camera app, you’re not alone as previously Note 9 owners have been reporting the problem as well. The good news is that it looks like Samsung is aware of the problem and is working on a fix for it.

In a post on the Samsung US forums, a moderator wrote, “Our specialists have given us the directive that an update is coming out to fix this issue specifically. However, due to us being unable to speculate on the release of future updates, I don’t have an exact date for when to expect this.”

For those hearing about this problem for the first time, basically what happened is that Note 9 users were reporting that their cameras were freezing up when they tried to take photos. Some users were also reporting that they were experiencing massive lag when it came to shooting videos, and in some instances they were also greeted with the “Camera Failed” error message.

This doesn’t seem to be unique to a particular model of the Note 9 handset, which means that it could easily affect unlocked users and users who might be using carrier-specific variants. It is unclear how widespread the issue is, but if you are facing similar problems then know that a fix is on its way.
