iPhone XR Was Taiwan’s Top-Selling Smartphone For November

Many analysts have recently expressed their skepticism about how well Apple’s new iPhones are selling, with some even predicting that Apple is expected to make further production cuts. Of course we won’t know how well the company is doing until their next financial report is released, but in the meantime it seems that at least for one country, the iPhone XR is doing well.

According to a report from Patently Apple, the latest supply chain reports are claiming that for the month of November, the 128GB iPhone XR was the top-selling smartphone in Taiwan. This was followed by Samsung’s Galaxy A7, the 256GB iPhone XS Max in third place, the 64GB iPhone XR in fourth place, and the 256GB iPhone XS in fifth place.

What’s interesting is that out of the top 10 smartphones that were sold for November, Apple’s iPhones occupied six of those slots, with Samsung taking two spots, and Oppo another two. Apple’s iPhone XR represents a more affordable iPhone compared to the iPhone XS and XS Max.

It isn’t by any means “cheap” compared to the Android competition, but given what it offers, we suppose it is a good alternative for those who’d rather not shell out $1,000 for an iPhone. In fact this report seems to echo what Apple had previously claimed, where the handset was actually topping iPhone sales ever since its release.
