Google Assistant Can Now Help You Make Donations

Recently we’ve seen how Google has been attempting to make it easier for users to donate money, such as through Google Play. However it seems that in a recent update made to Google Assistant, Google has since enabled users to make donations through its digital assistant platform using their voice.

All users have to do to trigger the donation feature is say, “Hey Google, donate to charity” or “OK Google, make a donation” and the process will begin. Note that there will be several steps involved in the process which means that the chances of you accidentally donating money without your knowledge is pretty slim.

As detailed by 9to5Google, the process involves asking for the name of the organization that you want to make a donation to. After that Google will make a suggestion of donating at least $10, but users are free to specify the amount that they want to give. Once the charity and amount has been set, users will be asked to confirm their donation one more time, after which it should go through.

However it should be pointed out that users will need to have Google Assistant Payments enabled first, so if this feature isn’t enabled then you won’t be able to make payments or donations through Google Assistant. Like we said, there will be several processes in the way of the actual donation which hopefully will prevent accidental payments being made.
