Watch This Guitar Get Made From Scratch Using 1,200 Colored Pencils

There is an art form when it comes to making musical instruments, which is why certain musical instruments like violins and pianos can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars if they are made by a specific instrument maker. However while it seems that YouTuber Burls Art might not be a luthier by trade, his work is still impressive nonetheless.

The YouTuber recently decided to take on a project where he would make his own electric guitar from scratch, and what makes it so unique is that it is made from 1,200 colored pencils. Now we’ve seen some pretty funky and unique guitar designs in the past, but this is just as good, if not better as the end result is a very cool-looking guitar that is naturally colored thanks to the cross sections of the colored pencils being exposed.

For those who are interested in checking out the entire process, Burls Art has uploaded it to his YouTube page where it runs for a little over 9 minutes. He talks us through the entire process and how he went about creating it, so if you are interested in attempting it yourself, hopefully this will give you some hints.

Now we can’t speak to the quality of the guitar itself since we can’t touch, hold, or play it ourselves. However from what we can hear, it sounds pretty good, although more discerning and experienced musicians might have a different opinion.
