Tesla Launches A New Portable Plug-In EV Charger

Tesla has launched a new Wall Connector charger for its electric vehicles that’s portable which means you can take it with you. It’s non-hardwired and has a NEMA 14-50 plug for charging EVs. Tesla says that this home charger can power up a Model S, Model X or Model 3 25 percent faster than its Gen 2 Mobile Connector which comes as standard with its cars.

With this new Wall Connector, Tesla EV owners can keep the mobile connector in their car for use only when they’re traveling. This device makes things easier with its NEMA 14-50 plug as users can take the Wall Connector with them anywhere that they want to so that the mobile connector is safely tucked away in the car only for use when absolutely necessary.

The company also points out that this particular Wall Connector doesn’t require installation by a trained electrician. Using it is as simple as mounting it on a wall and plugging it in. However, a NEMA 14-50 power outlet would be required for this.

Tesla is charging $500 for the non-hardwired version of the Wall Connector which is exactly the same amount of money it charges for the hardwired version. It’s now available for purchase from the company’s website.
