It has been almost two weeks since Google released the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. Some users have already started reporting an issue with the device. They are experiencing their handsets randomly powering off during the day. As you can probably imagine, this causes a lot of nuisance for those who are using the new handsets as their daily drivers, which is most of the users complaining about the issue.

There are more than a few reports about this issue on online forums and Reddit. Some have also taken to Google’s official support pages to complain about the matter. The new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are randomly shutting down for some users throughout the day. They then have to do a hard reset to bring the phone back to life. Some users say that the problem doesn’t go away even after a hard reset.

Google hasn’t officially commented on the matter as yet and it’s unclear right now what’s causing this behavior on the devices. The reports have come in from both Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL users but without any explanation of what’s causing the phones to shut down on their own.

One user tried rebooting the handset in safe mode to rule out a buggy third-party app and they still experienced a random shut down in safe mode. This may be taken as an indication that the issue might lie with Google’s software.
