tvOS 13 Updated With Multi-User Support, Gets New Features


Apple unveiled tvOS 13 at the WWDC 2019 keynote in San Francisco today. It brings a handful of new features to the Apple TV 4K such as multi-user support, a new Home screen, support for the Apple Arcade game service, and more. tvOS 13 also adds support for Xbox One and PS4 controllers.

tvOS 13 brings a new home screen for the Apple TV 4K. It enables apps to play full-screen video previews on the home screen, making it easier to access new content. The new Apple TV Control Center makes it easier to switch between family member so that all users have their own personalized entertainment space. All users will get their unique Up Next list and recommendations. The same also applies to Apple Music on tvOS 13.

The new platform update for the set-top box also includes the new Apple TV app which brings together many different ways to discover and watch TV shows and movies. It provides access to Apple TV channels and more than 100,000 movies and TV shows on iTunes. The Apple TV+ original video subscription service will also be available through this app in the fall this year.

Apple is making tvOS developer preview available to developers starting today. It will be available for users later this year in the fall for free.
