Many have criticized the Epic Games Store for not offering a cloud save feature and it’s finally making amends, however, the feature will only be available for select titles initially. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has confirmed that the cloud save feature is being rolled out for a “couple of new games.” He also said that wider implementation of this feature is on the cards as well and will eventually happen.

Cloud saves provides players with a lot of conveniences. They can easily upload their game progress to the cloud and then access those game saves whenever they want, on any device for their choosing. This feature makes it much easier to switch between devices since players always have the peace of mind that their game progress is not going to be lost during the move.

Many have called on Epic to add this feature to the Epic Games Store. One also has to consider the fact that Valve has among the first to offer this feature over a decade ago, so it would have rightly been expected of the Epic Games Store to have this feature from the get go.

Moonlighter, a free isometric game, is one of the titles for which cloud saves have been enabled. Sweeney has said that there’s a “bit more work” to do before this feature can be rolled out widely.
