Google Assistant On The Pixel 4 Can ‘Hold’ Calls For You

Have you ever made a call to a business only to be put on hold? Sometimes this can take a long time, depending on the nature of the call, but the good news is that one of the upcoming features of the Google Pixel 4 is that it might be able to hold the call for you and let you know when it’s time to come back.

This is according to a report from 9to5Google who claims that a source has told them that Google could be introducing a new feature to Google Assistant for the Pixel 4. Basically what happens is that when you are placed on hold, and usually there will be some background music accompanying it, a button will appear on the screen that will tell Google Assistant to takeover the call on your behalf.

This means that you can go about doing other things and take your attention away from the call, and when the caller gets back on the line, Google Assistant will let you know that you need to return to the call. That being said, despite this being a Pixel 4 feature, it might not necessarily launch with the device.

The publication’s sources told them that the feature is still in early development so while it might be announced at Google’s Pixel event, it might not necessarily launch on day one. Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully Google will have more concrete details for us soon.
