Not All iPhone 13 Models Will Have A 120Hz Display

It was rumored that Apple could launch an iPhone this year with 120Hz refresh rates, but that did not make the cut. However, we did hear some rumors that suggested that next year’s models, the iPhone 13, could come with such a display, but unfortunately it seems that it won’t be applicable to all models.

According to a report from The Elec, they are reporting that Apple could be using LTPO displays in 2021’s iPhones. We’ve actually heard this rumor before, but the report suggests that not all iPhones will be using the technology. The publication claims that only two out of the four models planned for next year will use the display technology, which presumably will be the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models.

The report suggests that Apple wants to use LTPO displays to help with the 120Hz refresh rate as it is more energy efficient, which means that it should be able to hit those refresh rates without too much impact on the battery. In a way this makes sense because as it stands, only the iPad Pro models have the 120Hz refresh rate, while other models continue to use 60Hz.

To be fair, 60Hz is more than sufficient for the most part, but with other smartphone manufacturers and brands featuring higher refresh rates in their smartphones, it gives the impression that Apple is lagging behind.
