Samsung Galaxy A Series U.S Launch Features 5G Under $300

The Samsung Galaxy A smartphones are more affordable than the Galaxy S, and are in many ways even more critical because that’s where the high volumes are.

Today, Samsung has announced a large Galaxy A update, with no less than five new phones: The Galaxy A12 ($109.99), Galaxy A02s ($179.99), Galaxy A32 5G ($299.99), Galaxy A42 5G ($399.99) and Galaxy A52 5G (499.99).

The Galaxy A Series covers every possible market segment and gives excellent options for every budget. Looking at the general specifications for these new devices, it is evident that Samsung’s product marketing has done a good job with tuning these phones to feature an outstanding value for the price.

We demonstrated this with data in the past when we looked at Samsung’s excellent camera hardware in T-Mobile USA’s line-up. We expect this to continue with these new phones. There is a near-linear increase in benefit for each additional dollar spent, so there’s no fear of missing out.

At the entry-level, the Galaxy A12 is hugely affordable and represents a big win for MediaTek, which supplies the Galaxy A12’s computing platform. The same thing is true for the Galaxy A32 5G, which has a MediaTek Dimensity 720 at its heart.

The Galaxy A12, Galaxy A42 5G, and Galaxy A52 5G are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 and 750G. If you’re interested in gaming, the Snapdragon 750G is the processor you should look at.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G and Galaxy A52 5G are exciting because the $299.99 A32 5G is Samsung’s most affordable 5G phone and seems to cover the basics really well: triple camera, huge battery and extensible storage via microSD.

The Galaxy A52 5G brings many high-end features such as a 120Hz display, quad-camera (with optical image stabilization), fast charging, and a waterproof chassis in the sub-$500 market. That’s clearly my favorite in this launch.

If you can stretch your budget above $700, the Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) has a formidable value proposition as well and is worth considering. The Galaxy A phones will start selling later this week, on Friday April 9, including at Verizon.
