All iPhone 14 Models Will Sport 120Hz Displays

According to the rumors, Apple’s iPhones for 2021 are expected to come with displays that support 120Hz refresh rates. However, even then it is expected that probably only the Pro models will get the feature, which we guess is fair since Apple would want to give customers a better reason for choosing the more expensive Pro iPhones.

However, come 2022, that might change and the entire iPhone 14 lineup is expected to get the feature. This is according to a report from The Elec which claims that LG will apparently be supplying the necessary LTPO displays that would be used in the entire iPhone 14 series in 2022.

For those unfamiliar, LTPO is one of the key pieces of technology that would allow Apple to put 120Hz displays into its iPhones. The reason is because since these displays use less energy, it can help balance the energy draw from a 120Hz refresh rate. Given that Apple’s iPhones aren’t exactly known for their battery life, this is one of the ways that Apple is said to be addressing it.

Also, it’s not surprising that Apple would eventually bring the feature to its entire lineup. This is something the company has done in the past with other features, so this was kind of expected. Of course, the iPhone 13’s 120Hz refresh rate hasn’t been officially confirmed yet either so it’s probably best to take this with a grain of salt for now.
