Microsoft’s Kinect Finds New Life As A Tool Of Ghost Hunters

When Microsoft first launched the Kinect, it was a tool designed for gaming. However, it was quickly discovered that the Kinect had uses beyond just gaming and over the years, we’ve seen it used for motion tracking, health services, and also as a tool that can help translate sign language.

Now it seems that ghost hunters are using the Kinect as well. This is according to a recent video where H3 Productions teamed up with Linda the Ghost Hunter to explore one of the most haunted places in America. According to Linda, the Kinect was being used because apparently it has the ability to track “skeletal figures that aren’t there”.

About a minute into the video, it does appear that the Kinect manages to capture two ghostly figures, but we can’t say for sure if this was 100% legitimate, a bug in the Kinect system, or just very clever editing. That being said, as some have pointed out in the comments, Linda wouldn’t be the first ghost hunter to use the Kinect.

There have been multiple stories over the years that have revealed that the Kinect is one of the popular choices amongst the ghost hunter community. Whether or not you believe in the supernatural, it’s just kind of fun to hear how people are finding alternate uses for the gadget.
