Study Shows Nearly Half Of Student Notebook Buyers Choosing Macs

The folks over at Apple should be pretty happy as a new Student Monitor study reveals that almost half of college students getting a notebook plan to buy Macs, and of the 87 percent of prospective buyers, 47 percent plan to get a version of the MacBook, which is an all time high for Apple, and sees interest in Dell and HP shrink to just 12 and 11 percent respectively. The study doesn’t explain why Apple is on the rise, but perhaps the popularity of its iOS devices might have rubbed off on students, and the claimed 10-hour battery life on certain MacBook models are also attractive features for students who need to keep a notebook running on battery power for several hours.
