Halo_4_review_VoltEarlier today, Microsoft and 343 Industries had officially announced the next Halo installment in the form of Halo 5: Guardians. The game, unfortunately, will not be seeing a release until the fall of 2015, meaning that we still have a long wait in front of us, assuming that there are no hiccups along the way.

The good news is that if you were hoping to relive the Halo franchise but with updated graphics, you’re in luck because according to Engadget’s sources, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 will be getting a HD remake when they are to be released for Microsoft’s Xbox One platform.

Their sources go on to claim that the games are intended to refresh the memories of gamers of the Halo franchise, as well as to get them hyped and amped for the next Halo title which is being released next year. Unfortunately not much is known about the games, such as potential resolution, frame rates, whether it will be digitally distributed, and so on.

Microsoft has yet to comment on the rumor, but at the same time we can’t help but think that this isn’t that big a stretch of the imagination. After all we’re sure Microsoft will want to keep gamers interested, plus the love and loyal following of the Halo franchise will no doubt extend to the Xbox One as well. Either way here’s hoping we will learn more at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, so check back with us then for the details.
