Microsoft is holding a press event this Tuesday where it is expected to announce new Surface tablets. Word on the street is that the company may unveil Surface Pro 3 and a Surface mini tablet. The former is believed to have a larger display while the latter may have a display around 8-inches. Over the past few days there has been significant speculation about the bigger tablet. A new rumor claims to offer information about the Surface Pro 3 price and processor options.

The rumor claims that Microsoft will offer five versions of the Surface Pro 3 tablet, all of which will be powered by Intel Haswell processors. We first heard about the possibility of Haswell based Surface tablets earlier this month.

The base model may be a Core i3 with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage for $799. An i5 with similar RAM and 128GB storage could sell for $999. Most expensive Surface Pro 3 model might be the one with a Core i7 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage for a whopping $1949. Microsoft may also offer an i5 and i7 model both with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for $1299 and $1549 respectively.

Other details rumors about the tablet include slim bezels, 12-inch display and a Windows button on the vertical side instead of the horizontal. Rumor has it that new Type covers will also be unveiled, though it is not known as yet exactly what will be “new” about the covers.
