surface-book-with-performance-base-2Apple’s new MacBook Pros aren’t cheap, and while they do pack some pretty high-end specs, like an incredibly fast SSD, it seems that maybe customers aren’t as enamored as Apple thought they would be. Or at least that’s the narrative that Microsoft is using when they boast that November was the best month ever for consumer Surface sales.

The reason for this is apparently due to Apple customers being disappointed by the new MacBook Pros revealed by the company. “More people are switching from Macs to Surface than ever before. Our trade-in program for MacBooks was our best ever, and the combination of excitement for the innovation of Surface coupled with the disappointment of the new MacBook Pro – especially among professionals – is leading more and more people to make the switch to Surface.”

It is true that there have been quite a few complaints regarding the new laptops from Apple. These complaints include the price as well as customization options where Apple isn’t letting users configure their laptops with 32GB of RAM. There is also the issue of Apple abandoning all legacy ports and even the SD card slot in favor of USB-C. This is a natural progression but the fact that customers are now forced to spend extra money on dongles is a point of contention.

In any case do you guys agree that the increase in Surface sales is due to Apple’s customers being largely disappointed by the Cupertino company’s recent computer offerings?
