apple-macbook-pro-5Apple’s new MacBook Pros aren’t cheap. In fact if you live in the UK, you’re probably looking at even more exorbitant prices, but the good news is that if you can hold off until 2017, you might be able to get your hands on cheaper MacBook Pros, or at least that’s according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to Kuo, he predicts that Apple will most likely expected to lower the price of the new MacBook Pros in 2017. Kuo claims that this is typical of Apple who tends to release laptops with increased prices first before lowering them, and it is also expected to feature updated hardware, possibly with Intel’s Canonlake CPU.

He also claims that with Canonlake CPU, it will allow Apple to offer up 32GB RAM options, which at the moment is maxed out at 16GB. Apple’s Phil Schiller claims that the reason for this is because 16GB of RAM would consume less battery than 32GB. Kuo notes that with Canonlake will consume 15-25% less power than existing CPUs, which should be able to offset the extra RAM.

Unfortunately if you wanted to wait for the new laptops, you’ll have to wait until the second half of 2017 which is when the refresh is expected, so unless you absolutely have to have a new laptop right now, perhaps holding out might not be such a bad idea.
