waze LAWaze is a great app if you’re looking to navigate your way to somewhere unfamiliar, or if you just want to avoid traffic in general. However just like Google Maps, users will be able to search for locations in broad terms, like street names, or building names. But what if you are trying to find a place but you just can’t remember what it was called?

The good news is that in a recent update to the app, Waze will now let users browse for places by searching for the category it might be in. For example you can search for hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and so on, all of which can be used to help further refine your search. You can even try and search for nearby parking which will come in handy if you’re unfamiliar with an area and need somewhere to park.

In addition to being able to search by category, there is an update to the search by voice feature. According to Waze, “Search for a street by speaking its name in the language of the country you’re in, even if your Waze is in another language”. There is also an auto complete distance feature which, “See the distance to any location as you type it in the Search box, with new auto complete distance feature”.

Last but not least the app will come with the usual host of bug fixes and various improvements. The changes should be live so hit up the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store for the download.
