Harry Potter AR Game Being Developed By Pokemon Go Creators


You may have heard of a little something known as Pokemon Go. The augmented reality game instantly became popular across the globe after it was released. It’s safe to say that Niantic’s efforts with this title were very successful. It was rumored not too long ago that Niantic might be working on a Harry Potter augmented reality title. The creators of Pokemon Go have now confirmed that they’re indeed developing a Harry Potter AR game.

Niantic Labs is going to team up with Warner Brothers to launch Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. This game is also going to be based on augmented reality much like the way Pokemon Go was. Niantic is aiming to release this game in 2018.

There aren’t a lot of details available about this title right now. It’s unclear what the game’s going to be about and what the gameplay mechanics are going to be.

It’s also reported that there’s going to be significant influence from the Niantic game Ingress which allows players to roam the real world as they collect power-ups, explore their environment, and defend locations.

Niantic is yet to provide further details about its Harry Potter AR game. It’s safe to say that fans of this much-loved franchise will be happy to see that there’s a new game coming. They’ll also have high expectations so Niantic knows that it has to deliver something special for them. Let’s hope that it does.
