Pentax is taking the Samsung route by sending their M30 compact digital camera to fat camp, and the results are astounding. What you get is an aluminum alloy body that measures a mere 18mm thin, featuring Digital Shake Reduction, high sensitivity, face recognition AF and AE, automatic picture modes to help out budding shutterbugs, a 3x optical zoom lens to complement the 7.1 megapixel CCD sensor, and high quality movie recording at 30fps (640 x 480 pixels). There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time. With cameras getting slimmer and slimmer, putting them into your pants pocket just isn’t advisable anymore.
