Super battery looms ahead

News on the fuel-cell front for consumer electronics have been nothing short of slow, hence it is nice to read about EEStor from Texas develop a hybrid battery-ultracapacitor that ultimately will replace all forms of electrochemical batteries on the market. This is not limited to those AA batteries used in a myriad of devices, but car, cellphone, and notebook batteries as well. EEStor touts that this new battery will outperform standard batteries across energy density, price, charge time, and safety platforms. What ultracapacitors are known for is the ability to absorb and transfer energy many times faster than batteries, hence the dream to make a viable consumer solution.
