For those who want to have a taste of how driving one of the fastest and safest trains in the world feels like, they can always pick up the Takara Tomy Shinkansen Simulator. All you need is hook this up to a nearby monitor or TV and you’re good to go. No idea how fun driving trains can be, but I do know that the Japanese train operators are pretty stressed up as they need to be on time (right on the exact second) always. If you’re willing to look past the 16-bit graphics, the Shinkansen Simulator could end up as an educational toy instead. At least you don’t have to worry about sticking to schedule with this and won’t run the risk of losing your job from being late.
