DigitalRise X9 slate runs on Windows 7

DigitalRise rides on the Windows 7 operating system and slate-fever to introduce their X9 device which ought to appeal to folks who love familiarity and have no intention of breeding contempt against Windows-powered systems. The X9 will feature a 10.2″ display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor. It will come with Wi-Fi connectivity, a 160GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, a 1.3-megapixel webcam as well as multitouch capability. Hmmm, sounds more like a tablet netbook to us than anything else. Well, the 3,000mAh battery is touted to run for up to 4 hours before requiring a trip to the nearest power outlet, and we wonder whether that includes having Wi-Fi turned on which would be a pretty decent battery life, although recent advancements in other netbooks that hit 8 hours and more seem to be the norm these days. There is a 2 week waiting list if you’re willing to fork out a rather hefty $780 for the X9 slate.
