Microsoft to sell 250GB hard drive add-on for Xbox 360 in Japan

Microsoft will roll out its 250GB hard drive add-on for the Xbox 360 in Japan from next month onwards, specifically on March 11 where it will retail for the equivalent of $172 after conversion. This roll out depicts the first time Microsoft will release a 250GB capacity peripheral as a standalone unit, despite the fact that this drive has already made its way overseas since late 2009, albeit being bundled in a new console. This is more than double its capacity of 120GB (seen above) which is found in its current Xbox 360 Elite console. But still, forking out $172 for 250GB of storage real estate isn’t a good bargain especially when you consider the capacity that you can get for a normal desktop hard drive at a similar price point.
