InFocus and Lightspeed work together to offer low-cost 3D projectors

We know that stereoscopic 3D is gaining traction these days, but the equipment might just be a wee bit out of reach for most folks still. Well, InFocus knows of such a predicament, and hence has teamed up with Lightspeed to roll out a range of low-cost 3D projectors which are meant to see action in classrooms, with medical students touted to be the primary benefactors. It seems that a 3D projector allows one to view virtual surgeries being performed or see DNA strands or molecules from a new perspective. The IN100 series, IN2116 and IN3116 3D projectors will sport native resolutions which range from 800 x 600 to 1,280 x 800 and a brightness level of between 2,500 and 3,500 lumens. Shared specifications include Wi-Fi connectivity. Depending on the model of your choice, you will have to fork out anywhere from $500 to $1,700 – no idea if these come with a pair of dorky looking glasses or not.
