Sony Vaio P clone heading to the US

While we’ve seen our fair share of Vaio P clones in the past, it is safe to say that most of them do not make it to the US, but there is an exception to the rule this time round with the Pocket Sony Style L80 Mini Laptop. Similar to the actual Vaio P, this model comes in a compact design that lacks a touchpad right below the keyboard, where you will get your cursor navigation kicks from a pointing stick in the center of the keyboard. The Sony Style L80 will come with a larger 8.9″ display, although the resolution probably won’t be able to match the original’s 1,600 x 768 pixels. Apart from that, everything under are pretty standard, reminiscent of most netbooks in the market with an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor and 1GB RAM. The 16GB of internal memory might not appeal to most folks since they will probably prefer a hard drive instead. Would you be willing to fork out $299 for this and be a potential object of ridicule among friends for not picking up the original?
