The dual-screen Windows 7 tablet from Toshiba known as the Libretto is getting released in Japan. Japanese consumers can get their Microsoft Courier substitute beginning August 11 for abut $1100 US.
The device has a lot of features going for it that are innovative and new, and will appease an audience that has been waiting for Microsoft to commercialize its Courier concept. Although views on the device have been mixed, the Courier delivers two-seven-inch touchscreen panels that can be positioned in laptop mode, or flattened out to adjoin together creating a larger screen tablet. The screens are dynamic and when in laptop mode, the bottom screen will display a multi-touch keyboard. Both screens have a resolution of 1024 X 688. 8-cell battery, a power-efficient Pentium processor, 2 GB RAM, and 52 GB SSD drive round out the specs.
