Intel to release native USB 3.0 chipset

Intel has finally seen the light, or some some quarters might deem so, by releasing their very own native USB 3.0 chipset at the Intel Developer Forum which is happening next week. Known as the Cougar Point chipset, it will see action in desktops using Sandy Bridge processors, delivering superior bus speeds to USB 2.0 while doing its part to accelerate the adoption of the newer standard in computers. Intel has mentioned before that it will be primed for a late 2010 launch, so some people are gearing up for a November shipment. With better mass adoption of the standard, expect productivity levels to roar in certain industries.
