Packard Bell Dot SE netbook arrives in Europe

Since Acer owns Packard Bell, don’t be surprised that the Packard Bell Dot SE which will arrive in Europe closely resembles the recently unveiled Acer Aspire One D255 netbook. When it comes down to specifications, everything is more or less identical – case in point, a 10-inch display, an Intel Atom N550 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory (why not DDR3, we wonder), a 250GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter Edition as the operating system of choice. Its battery is able to chug along for around 7.5 hours which ought to be sufficient in this day and age, although not really suitable for long haul flights if you’re a frequent traveler. Expect the Packard Bell Dot SE to retail for 400 Euros across the pond, so don’t expect to see it arrive Stateside since you can get the identical Acer Aspire One D255 here instead.
