Samsung Mesmerize is US Cellular's Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S isn’t quite done yet with the North America region, making an appearance as the Samsung Mesmerize over US Cellular. Also known as the SCH-i500, this model will share hardware specifications as with other Galaxy S models, including a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, a 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capability, a 3.5mm headset port, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi with DLNA support, Bluetooth support, and Android 2.1 with an Android 2.2 upgrade on its way. Nice to see Swype pre-installed for speedy texting, alongside a bunch of US Cellular-specific apps to help you get started right out of the box. It will hit the market tihs coming October 27th for $199 after a $80 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract. If you prefer other Android handsets from US Cellular instead of Samsung’s watch out for the LG Apex and LG Optimus later ths year. [Press Release]
